Design, Custom Fabrication, Lighting/Video/Audio Equipment and Production Expertise Unite to Bring IndyCar Award Show to Life
August 31sth 2015 at the historic Masonic Center, San Francisco, CA
24 hours after a scintillating, gripping and heart-wrenching season finale at Sonoma Raceway, in which the driver and entrant championships hung in the balance until the completion of the 2,232nd and final lap of the 16th race – the Verizon IndyCar Series honored its champions, award winners and partners as well as a tribute to seven-time Indy car winner Justin Wilson who passed away on August 24th.
To support this exciting event DPS provided video, lighting, staging, audio, labor and production management. DPS executed a fantastic stage design to superbly enhance the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series Championship Celebration with the previous day’s winning Indy Car and trophies. The total package included a stunning lighting package, a beautiful towering set and a high resolution LED video display screen and a Hollywood Step and Repeat photo location.
Senior Designer Tom Huston augmented the existing facility lighting by incorporating a floor and balcony lighting package which included a GrandMA2 Lighting console, Martin Mac Viper AirFX, Clay Packy Sharpy, Vari-Lite VL3500, GLP Impression LED Wash, Ayrton MagicBlades, Cineo HS Cinema fixtures, Chroma-Q Color Force 12” Battens as well as Skjonberg Power Distribution system, HaseBase Hazer Pro and truss from Thomson Lighting.
DPS Corporate also created a custom fabricated 4’ high X 6’ wide Center Stair Unit for the stage and managed the pre-production schedule that allowed for loading of equipment and materials, the winning race car, and a broadcast truck to make the show a total success.
